About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and passionate GCSE Maths & English Tutor to join our team in Liverpool and St Helens, starting in January 2026. This role involves delivering 1:1 GCSE Maths and English lessons to students in the area. Its ideal for a tutor who can adapt their teaching style to meet individual learning needs and help students build confidence, improve subject knowledge, and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored GCSE Maths and English lessons, adjusting content and pace to suit each student's unique learning style.

Help students develop subject knowledge, study skills, and boost exam confidence.

Create a safe and supportive learning environment while building positive rapport with students.

Monitor progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to parents/carers or other professionals.

Prepare and implement structured learning plans, including a therapeutic approach where appropriate.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English.

Right to work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Ability to work independently and manage flexible schedules.

Desirable Qualifications:

QTS or PGCE in Secondary Education.

Experience working with learners with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).

Additional Information:

Sessions typically take place during school hours, with occasional after-school or evening opportunities.

Prospero Teaching will provide resources and regular progress monitoring to support your work.
