What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic support teaching assistant who will work as part of a team supporting high needs pupils. Training will be provided if necessary (including some intimate care and low level medical support).
This contract is for 30 hours a week, term time only and is to start on the 9th February 2026 (or as soon as possible afterwards). This is a fixed position until 31st August 2026. This post is linked to EHCP funding. This means that should the pupils leave or funding be withdrawn the post will cease to exist.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to:
- be genuinely committed to developing caring and trusting relationships and supporting pupils with specific needs in accessing their education;
- motivate and encourage the children;
- be calm, patient and adaptable;
- work closely with other team members and the class teacher;
- sensitively provide for the health and care needs of the children;
- work in class or sensory room to support learning;
- implement intervention programmes and differentiated learning;
- assist with providing verbal/written feedback as appropriate;
- communicate well;
- support the Christian ethos of the school.
