We are looking for compassionate, confident and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our team in Shrewsbury. You will be supporting two energetic young men with autism and learning disabilities to live active, meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Who You Will Be Supporting

You will be working with two fantastic young men in their 20s who share a bungalow but lead independent, busy lives. Each has their own unique personality, routines and interests.

Cheeky gentleman

- Social and lively

- Uses Makaton to communicate

- Loves trips to the cinema and the Sealife Centre

- Enjoys meeting new people and trying new experiences

- Independent and confident, but appreciates quiet time too

Well-travelled gentleman

- Has explored the world with his family

- Enjoys independence and community activities

- Takes part in a local dance group

- Loves attending a Friday night disco

- Balances busy social activities with moments of quiet reflection

Both individuals value staff who understand boundaries, communicate well, and can recognise when it's time for activity - and when it's time to unwind.

What You Will Be Doing

This is a rewarding, varied role where every day brings a new opportunity to make a difference. You will support the gentlemen with:

Empowering independence
Supporting personal care, meal preparation and daily living tasks in a dignified, respectful and encouraging way.

Activity and community support
Regular outings including cinema trips, walks, days out and community groups. You'll support them to enjoy their hobbies and stay active.

Building communication and relationships
Using Makaton (full training provided) and supporting calm, positive communication.

Daily routines
Light household tasks, medication administration and ensuring their home is safe, comfortable and welcoming.

1:1 support
Providing focused support tailored to each person's preferences, needs and daily plans.

Shift Patterns

You will work 22 contracted hours per week, including:

- Day Shifts: 7:00am - 10:00pm

- Sleep-In Shifts: 10:00pm - 7:00am (paid to sleep)

Shifts include alternate weekends and 1-2 sleep-ins per week.
Start/finish times may vary depending on planned activities.

Rotas are issued in advance to support good work-life balance.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

We're looking for someone who is:

- Confident, outgoing and able to build positive relationships

- Patient, observant and understanding of personal space and downtime

- A good communicator willing to learn Makaton

- Reliable, friendly and able to bring a sense of humour to the role
