Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We're recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering structured interventions, supporting emotional wellbeing, and helping students reach their full potential.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
* Deliver structured intervention programmes tailored to individual learning plans.
* Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adapt support.
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional regulation and engagement.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support behaviour, self-esteem, and resilience.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting students with SEMH or similar needs (school or alternative provision experience desirable).
* Confidence delivering structured interventions or behaviour-support programmes.
* Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to managing challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff across the school.
* Relevant SEN training or qualifications (desirable but not essential).
