Summary

Your new company

A rapidly expanding and innovative UK MGA is seeking an E‑Trade Trading Underwriter to join its growing digital trading division. The organisation is recognised for its strong broker relationships, commitment to service excellence and continuous investment in its e‑trade proposition.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing a book of new business while maintaining strong and effective relationships with brokers across the market. You will review and underwrite quotations across a range of commercial insurance products that fall within the company's underwriting appetite, handling any associated queries within the required service levels. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in IT and Technical Underwriting to support the evolution of digital products and Acturis-driven processes. You will also maintain regular communication with Business Development Managers to support and strengthen broker engagement. As part of your responsibilities, you will act as a referral point for colleagues who hold lower underwriting authority, providing guidance and support where needed. You will work closely with the wider team to ensure that all underwriting tasks are completed within agreed service standards, and you will uphold a high level of customer service by responding to broker calls in a professional, friendly and efficient manner. Throughout your work, you will operate within your delegated underwriting licence and refer to underwriting guidance or senior colleagues when appropriate to ensure a collaborative and consistent approach. You will be expected to take initiative to improve internal processes, contribute to broader corporate objectives and help ensure that customers consistently receive fair and compliant outcomes in line with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this position, you will be self‑motivated and able to influence others effectively while building strong and productive working relationships alongside possessing office experience. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team, supported by strong organisational abilities that enable you to follow company processes confidently. Ideally, you will also be able to perform effectively under pressure and apply a practical, solutions‑focused approach to problem‑solving. You will be expected to uphold the organisation's values and maintain a positive and professional approach with both internal and external stakeholders, helping to support the company's reputation and continued success. Reliability, dependability, and a constructive attitude will further enhance your suitability for the role.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a competitive salary of up to £40,000 (d.o.e), a generous private healthcare package and an excellent pension scheme, along with the opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment.
