This is not your average business development role.

This is a blank canvas, a big opportunity, and a chance to be right at the heart of change for young people experiencing homelessness across South Yorkshire.

As part of Roundabout’s Fundraising team, you’ll lead the charge in growing our corporate partnerships—connecting with brilliant businesses, inspiring them to get involved, and showing them just how powerful their support can be. You’ll research, identify and approach key decision-makers, opening conversations around Corporate Social Responsibility and creating meaningful partnerships that go far beyond a logo on a leaflet.

What you’ll be doing

This role is all about building relationships, opening doors and creating opportunities that help change young lives. As Business Development Manager, you’ll lead the growth of Roundabout’s corporate fundraising—bringing energy, creativity and ambition to how we engage with the business community across South Yorkshire.

• Be the driving force behind Roundabout’s corporate fundraising growth across South Yorkshire, identifying and securing new business opportunities aligned with our long-term strategy.

• Act as the recognised face of Roundabout within the business community—building visibility, credibility and excitement around our work with young people experiencing homelessness.

• Build, nurture and steward strong, long-lasting relationships with businesses, funders and partners, engaging confidently with stakeholders at every level.

• Proactively research, pursue and convert new leads—opening doors, developing partnerships and creating sustainable income streams.

• Work closely with the Fundraising Manager to shape strategy, budgets, goals and growth plans across the department.

• Help design and deliver long-term corporate partnerships that maximise income, impact and lifetime value.

• Represent Roundabout at networking events, conferences, presentations and talks, raising awareness and inspiring support.

• Deliver compelling pitches and presentations, positioning Roundabout as a charity of choice, including charity-of-the-year opportunities.

• Collaborate with the Events Fundraising Manager to support and grow regional events, helping to ensure their success locally and beyond.

• Track progress, share insights and provide regular development updates to the Leadership Team and Board.

• Stay informed on sector trends and opportunities, bringing fresh ideas and innovation into the role.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on Etapestry, ensuring excellent stewardship and relationship management.

• Maximise income from corporate and business relationships across all areas Roundabout operates, identifying opportunities for deeper engagement and high-value support.

Person Specification


1 Minimum GCSE Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent).

2 Ability to manage concurrent projects and work under pressure. Able to react quickly and flexibly to adapt, change or capitalise on new opportunities.

3 Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach to work.
Engaging and succinct writing skills; excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR.

4 Experience in building corporate relationships and of winning funding from major donors/ corporates or commercial equivalent. Proven experience of generating new business, from prospect identification to securing new deals/partnerships

5 Experience in using Windows-based software packages and CRM Systems.

6 Proven experience of establishing rapport, credibility, and collaborative relationships with business customers, partners, and stakeholders. Track record of stakeholder engagement and working with staff at all levels

7 Ability to pitch and present services to generate engagement

8 Experience of working inclusively with diverse populations, communities, and individuals.

9 Experience of contributing to strategies in line with organisational plans, planning and updating budgets and targets.

10 Hold a full driving licence with business insurance and have access to own transport
