Work with us at Riverford, and join a thriving employee-owned business as a Goods In and Yard Operative…
Be part of a inclusive and friendly production team
More than just a veg box….Riverford are mad about organic veg. It’s at the core of everything we do. We love to grow it, pack it into boxes, and deliver it to around 70, 000 homes across the UK every week.
This takes loads of brilliant people – and working here makes you a ‘co-owner’, since Riverford is employee-owned. Success means much more than just profits; we want this to be a place people enjoy coming to work, and a business our co-owners feel proud of!
We offer a bucket load of benefits….33 days holiday pro rata (including bank holidays), 30% off veg boxes and our online shop, generous company pension scheme, annual profit share (at least 10% of all our profits are split equally between all co-owners)
Delivering even greener veg - We’re in the process of swapping diesel vans to electric, with the ambitious goal of being 100% electric vans for low-emission deliveries to our customers!
This role is a permanent contract, 39 hours per week - Working Thursday - Monday, which is inclusive of Bank Holidays.
Location: Wash Farm, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU.
Hours: Thurs: 8am-4.30pm. Fri: 8am-3.30pm. Sat: 6am-2.30pm. Sun: 8am-4.30pm. Mon: 11.30am-8pm.
Pay: £13.11 per hour.
What you’ll be doing…
At Riverford, we are committed to delivering products of exceptional quality to our customers, and our Goods In and Intake team plays a crucial role in making this happen. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all incoming items are processed, booked in, and accurately recorded in our ERP system.
You will check each consignment against our intake standards, verifying certification, expiry dates, quantities, and other key criteria. This role will involve working across multiple departments within our business, and you’ll be expected to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders, including our SDOP farmers, ROV growers, and other suppliers.
This is a dynamic role with new challenges daily. It requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Working closely with the Quality Control and Warehouse teams, this role offers great opportunities for growth within the department and across the business.
What we’re looking for
You have some knowledge of fresh produce, but more importantly, you have the drive and eagerness to deepen your understanding.
Accustomed to working quickly and accurately, with a strong attention to detail.
Confident in using numeracy skills effectively.
Comfortable using IT and may be interested in further developing these skills.
At Riverford, we value quality service and our production team play a key role in our mission. If you’re looking for a job where you can make a difference and join a friendly, supportive team, we’d love to hear from you!
Application Process - We'll be reviewing applications throughout the duration of the advert and may choose to bring the closing date forward; therefore, we'd encourage you to apply at your earliest convenience.
