Crynodeb
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-motivated and reliable person to join our friendly team in the Microbiology department at BHR University Hospitals Trust. The department is based on two sites; Queen’s Hospital (QH) in Romford and King George Hospital (KGH) in Goodmayes. We are looking for Specialist Biomedical Scientist with Bacteriology and/or Serology/Molecular experience. Primary work base will be based on individual's experience and will be required to work in all areas of the laboratory on a rotational basis cross-site.
You should have a degree in Biomedical Science and hold HCPC registration. You must have undertaken successful completion of the IBMS Specialist Portfolio or have equivalent experience if your first HCPC registration was prior to this qualification being available. Band 6 Annex 21 contracts may also be considered for those currently in formal IBMS specialist training. You must have Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) experience, ability to follow procedures, have good written/verbal communication skills and an enthusiasm for learning.
You must bring along evidence of participation in CPD. The post holder will receive formal training within the Trust as well as within the Microbiology Department. Performance will be assessed regularly by an appraisal system and laboratory-based competence assessment.
To perform technical work as required in all sections of the laboratory on a rotational basis under the supervision of senior BMS staff.
