We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to support a neurodivergent woman with ADHD and ME/CFS. The role will involve supporting with daily routines, light housework, and meal preparation. You will be joining a welcoming, diverse, and supportive home environment that values flexibility, kindness and humour.
As the Personal Care Assistant, your duties will include:
Prompting and assisting with morning self-care tasks such as showering, dressing, and having breakfast.
Helping to plan the day and updating visual timetables.
Carrying out general housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying up, changing bedding and vacuuming.
Assisting with evening meals and providing support as needed.
The ideal candidate will:
Have an understanding of the social model of disability, and be committed to promoting independence and empowerment.
Be neurodivergent and LGBT friendly, with an openness to different ways of thinking and living.
Be comfortable around dogs (a nervous rescue dog) and young children.
Have the ability to take direction and perform tasks in a particular way as requested, while also using initiative and being proactive in completing tasks without needing constant reminders.
Have experience (or a strong willingness to learn) in supporting individuals with complex needs, especially with ADHD, ME/CFS, and/or autism.
Be female or non-binary (genuine occupational requirement for this role due to the personal nature of the care).

Has good communication skills and is comfortable following instructions.
Has the ability to adapt to the varying needs of the household and can remain flexible with working hours.
Is willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check for safeguarding purposes.
