Summary
Hull City Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Payroll Team Leader to join the Payroll and Pensions Team.
The post holder:-
Will manage the work of the Payroll Team to provide a comprehensive, accurate, efficient and customer focussed transactional support service to the council, relevant external organisations and customers.
Plan, prioritise and agree timescales for team activities and determine the actions required to meet the aims and objectives of the Service Plan in line with the Council’s policies and procedures.
Act as the lead for Payroll Officers and to provide support to Senior Management, external organisations and service areas.
Contribute to the overall development and management of the Payroll Team and take shared responsibility with the Pensions, Payroll Control and Development Team Leaders for ensuring that Council wide the service is delivered to required standards, within agreed budgets and is within agreed targets and deadlines.
Implement new Payroll procedures in light of new Statutory Regulations and Government legislation relating to HR, Payroll and Pensions administration and with regard to Local Authority regulations and Council requirements.
Assist in the long term planning and ongoing professional development of the team to ensure the transactional service meets service standards and customer expectations.
