Summary
Special educational needs Teaching assistant – Temp to perm
We are working with a fantastic Alternative provision in the North Nottinghamshire area to find an experienced, enthusiastic and naturally caring experienced SEND teaching assistant to join them on a long term, part time basis (Weds-Fri) which could lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.
In this role you will be working with pupils with additional needs or those who are unable to attend a school environment.
To be a successful SEND teaching assistant, you will need –
• To have previous experience working with children with SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
• To have sensitivity and understanding
• To be patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• To have active listening skills
• To be able to look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare.
• To be flexible and open to change
• To have excellent verbal communication skills
• To be able to adapt teaching support according to student's needs.
Other essential requirements include:
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure on the update service is an advantage but we can apply for one for you if needed.
• Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
• Professional reference checks.
• CV must cover the last 5 years of employment history where possible.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
This role is to start at the beginning of February.
