Summary
A caring and supportive personal assistant is required for an energetic, lively and happy 5-year-old boy living between two homes near Roche and in Newquay.
He is on the ASD pathway, is non-verbal, and would like someone who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some 1:1 support. Some level of personal care will be required.
He would like someone to support him with his social skills out in the community. He loves being outdoors and has endless energy which uses to run around. His interests are numbers, counting songs, nursery rhymes and using his tablet.
Your support will enable him to explore the local area, enjoy more social opportunities, and establish an engaging routine, particularly during weekends and school holidays, relying less on his family.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on their life.
The role is part-time, with 6 hours available on Saturdays. School holiday availability will be required, also.
The hourly rate is £13.50, plus mileage allowance.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle, with business use insurance, will be needed for this role.
Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
