Deputy Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £31,824 per annum
Contract: Fixed term (maternity cover) – Full-time 40 hours per week
Location: Raised in Bristol at Docklands Community Centre
Join Raised In – where early years education meets community impact.
We’re looking for a passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join the team at Raised in Bristol at Docklands Community Centre for Maternity Cover. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of the nursery.
We’re a not-for-personal-profit social enterprise with a big heart and a clear mission: to provide exceptional early years education while investing in the communities we serve. At Raised In, we believe that nurseries should feel like home, welcoming, nurturing, and full of joy.
We’re a passionate bunch who love what we do. Every day, we support children to thrive through play-based, child-led learning in beautifully designed spaces that spark curiosity and confidence.
At Raised In our approach centres on child-led learning through play, with a thoughtfully designed curriculum that nurtures curiosity and supports each child’s unique interests. From the baby room through to preschool, we focus on every stage of development, helping children grow in confidence and preparing them for their exciting next steps towards school.
Our St Pauls nursery is a hidden gem, small and relaxed, with just 56 places across three light-filled rooms. It has a homely feel, a wide veranda, and a private garden that gives children space to explore and grow.
Located just a 5-minute walk from Cabot Circus and Stokes Croft, and only 10 minutes from Montpelier station, it’s easy to reach by bike or public transport. Due to limited parking, we’re especially keen to hear from candidates who live locally or can commute sustainably.
What about you?
You’ll have a can-do attitude and be a confident and approachable communicator with the team and families. As a leader, you’ll be a positive and patient role model, with a supportive approach to getting the best out of the team and mentoring them to success.
See the job description for a full list of duties and requirements.
If you’re looking for an exciting new challenge, where you can make a real difference, then we want to hear from you!
This is a one-year fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, with the possibility of a permanent position if a suitable role becomes available after the contract ends.
You’ll have (in line with Raised in Behaviours)
• The ability to contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, collaborative and supportive environment
• Children’s needs at the forefront of everything that you do
• A positive mindset, approaching tasks with a can-do-attitude
• A strong work ethic, setting a good example for others and supporting your team
• The want to make a difference, working in partnership positively with your team
• The want to be part of trying or suggesting new initiatives and ways of doing things
• High standards for yourself, team and the nursery
• A reflective mindset, open to feedback and ongoing self-improvement
Why work with Raised in Bristol?
