Neway International have a vacancy for a Business Support Officer to join our client based with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
Location: Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames
Hours: 36 per week
Start Date: 19 January 2026
End Date: 18 April 2026 (likely to be extended)
About the Role
The Royal Borough of Kingston is seeking a proactive and organised Business Support Officer to support the Revenues & Benefits Service. This team delivers key statutory functions including Council Tax, Housing Benefits, and Business Rates (NNDR).
This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth service delivery while a permanent vacancy is being recruited.
Working Arrangements
Training: On-site, 5 days per week at Kingston Council offices (central Kingston upon Thames)
Post‑training: Hybrid working considered (2–3 days per week in the office)
Hours: 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
Sorting, scanning, and distributing incoming post
Indexing post and emails into the NEC Revenues & Benefits system
Triaging emails relating to Council Tax, Housing Benefits, and Business Rates
Running scheduled reports from the DWP portal and internal systems
Providing general administrative and business support to the Revenues & Benefits team
About You
We are looking for an experienced, reliable self‑starter who can work confidently within a small, friendly, and fast‑paced team.
Essential
Strong IT skills
Solid general administrative experience
Desirable
Previous experience working within a local authority
Experience sorting and indexing post
Familiarity with Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets), used across Kingston Council
