Summary
We are Quarriers East Dunbartonshire Service. We are a Supported Living Service providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities, including some individuals with more complex brain injuries. We are currently seeking to recruit new Support Workers for multiple contracts.
Your New Opportunity
As a Support Worker, your role will be varied, and no two days will be the same. We are looking for flexible individuals who can adapt to the needs of the people we support.
Some of the people we support live independently in their own homes, while others live at home with their families. We also provide 1:1 support, including overnight support for up to three individuals. Overnight shifts are paid at a dedicated overnight rate.
Your day-to-day duties may include supporting with personal care, household tasks, and encouraging participation in a wide range of interests and activities that promote health and wellbeing. These activities may include watching football, drama and musical evenings, gardening at the allotment, shopping and banking trips, and attending social occasions.
Due to the location of our services and the rural areas where some of the people we support live, a full manual driving licence is essential.
Please note that shifts are managed on a rotational basis and will include a variety of shift patterns, including weekends, to meet the needs of the people we support. Sleepover shifts are paid at an additional hourly rate and can provide extra earning potential.
Above all, we are looking for Support Workers who share our values:
A commitment to excellence and being the best we can be
Being outcome-focused and enabling people to achieve their goals
Treating everyone with dignity and respect
Being open and honest with those we support and work alongside
What You Will Need to Bring to the Role
Compassion and kindness to support people in their day-to-day lives
Enthusiasm and self-motivation
The ability to apply transferable life skills and experience to support and enable individuals
Strong problem-solving skills, driven by positive outcomes
Resilience, reliability, and excellent listening skills
Good IT and communication skills
A full manual driving licence
What You’ll Get in Return
Training and development opportunities
❤️ The opportunity to change lives through meaningful work
Family-friendly policies
Health benefits, including HSF cash plans, physiotherapy and occupational health
Free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
£500 refer-a-friend bonus (T&Cs apply)
️ Life assurance and pension
Cycle to Work scheme
️ Access to Concerts for Carers
Full details of this role can be found in the attached Job Role Profile.
Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within three months of their start date.
Quarriers holds Investors in People Platinum accreditation.
