Summary
TeacherActive are recruiting for strong SEMH/ Social Emotional Mental Health Tutors in Nottingham City. In this role, you will be working on a one to one basis, or in small groups with pupils that have SEMH/ Social Emotional Mental Health and SEND/ Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This may be in Education settings or other venues - such as libraries or at the home of the pupil.
Due to the nature and the complexities that are attached to each referral, we are unable to go into specific details on each role.
The Alternative Provision are looking for people to start immediately on a part time basis with the following:
• Experienced tutor, confident in delivering 1:1 or small groups
• Ability to connect with children and families effectively and build trusting relationships
• Excellent KS3/KS4 curriculum knowledge
• Experience with and understanding of working with SEMH/SEN
• Prior experience working alongside pupils with SEND & SEMH
• Knowledge, keen interest or understanding of the range of different types of learning difficulties and disabilities (SEMH, ASC, challenging behaviour)
• Ability to adapt to various working environments and students with differing abilities
• Practical approach to the needs of students with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities
• Good interpersonal and communication skill and a caring attitude
