Summary

Grade: F scp 17 £31,022 to scp 23 £34,434 plus essential car user allowance.

Contract: Permanent 37 hours per week.

Role specifics: Must hold full UK driving licence and have experience of working with vulnerable families.

The Role

The Vulnerable Family Support Worker based within The Housing Services team (who manage a portfolio of self-contained temporary homeless accommodation) will provide a family-centred service that is responsive, co-ordinated, focused, and personalised to each family.

They will provide practical support, interventions to build family / parental resilience and capacity, and improve medium to longer-term outcomes for parents and their children.

The support worker will engage with families exhibiting a complexity of additional support needs, which have previously negatively affected their ability to successfully secure and maintain suitable accommodation to meet the family’s needs. They will work with between 8 to 10 families concurrently for periods of between six to eighteen months depending upon need, demonstrating effective multi-agency collaboration.

About You - The successful candidate will:

Have knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable homeless families and will be able to demonstrate a track record in positive casework outcomes in working with families through assessment, co-production of support planes and be able to motivate and elicit positive parental engagement.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator being able to reflect, analyse and support people to take personal ownership of their circumstances whilst enabling their personal capacity and resilience.

Be confident in working independently as well as part of a team with great skills to work in partnership across a range of agencies.

Have excellent understanding of supporting people through transition and change utilising strength-based, trauma informed and co-production being at the heart of their approach.
