Career Graded Post within Bury Council's Building Control Team

The Team and About the role

- Bury’s Building Control team have opportunity for a Technical Support Officer to provide administrative support to the team. As a front-line competitive service. You will be the public interface of Building Control.

- You should be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders including elected members, staff, other council departments, customers, government agencies, other local authorities, professional bodies and other service providers.

- The role includes validation of Building Regulation applications and applications for Demolition and the creation of postal addresses in accordance with current statutory requirements to agreed deadlines.

- You should have a good basic level of education, being computer literate with experience of Windows-based word processing packages, be able to meet tight deadlines, in addition to being able to work well within a team you should have excellent interpersonal skills.

- Show aptitude and willingness to undertake the appropriate technical training to expand your current level knowledge and experience.

- You will be based at the Council Offices at 3 Knowsley Place in Bury.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
