Crynodeb
Female, self-employed PA required to provide companionship and support for a lovely, quiet 68-year-old lady with reduced mobility and physical difficulties following a stroke, whilst my client, her partner, has some well-earned respite away from his caring responsibilities. These hours will enable him to spend some time out to meet friends and attend occasional events which interest him, which he has not been able to do for several years, or just go shopping without having to worry about leaving his partner.
4 hours of respite support are required every fortnight, however there may be some flexibility with regards to how these hours are used in further discussion with the client during interview. This may be some shorter 2-hour slots to enable him to go shopping, or longer 4-hour slots to enable longer outings or visits to friends. These will be daytime hours, no evenings, but possible weekend hours.
The lady requiring support has a quiet but kindly and determined nature and, despite her restricted mobility, wants to remain as involved and independent as possible in her life. She loves to just chat, enjoys watching TV and being included in conversation and activity. She is also a keen cross-stitcher, and would appreciate some support to try and get back into this creative hobby and complete some works she has started.
The right candidate just needs to be caring, kind and compassionate, able to have fun and generate conversation, whilst also being ready to help out around the house with some light domestic tasks if requested.
Enhanced DBS and two references are required.
This advert complies with the Equality Act 2010
