Description
The Youth Justice Service Practitioner (CS) Grade 7 plays a pivotal role in supporting and rehabilitating young individuals who come into contact with the youth justice system. This position is designed for passionate professionals who are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of young people, helping them to understand the consequences of their actions and empowering them to make better choices moving forward. The practitioner will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychologists, and law enforcement, to develop intervention strategies tailored to the unique needs of each youth. The primary focus will be on providing guidance, support, and resources to both individuals and their families, fostering a collaborative approach to reducing recidivism rates and promoting community safety. Additionally, the role involves continuous assessment and monitoring of the progress of assigned cases, delivering evidence-based programs, and advocating for the needs of youth within the justice system. Responsibilities
Assess and evaluate the needs of young individuals within the youth justice system.
Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with the youth and their support networks.
Monitor and review case progress regularly, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies.
Facilitate group sessions and individual counseling for youth to address behavioral issues and personal development.
Collaborate with external agencies, including social services, schools, and community organizations, to provide comprehensive support for youth.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions, assessments, and outcomes for all cases handled.
Provide training, support, and resources to families of youth in the justice system, ensuring their involvement in the rehabilitation process.
Requirements
A relevant degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field.
Proven experience in working with youth in a justice system or similar environment.
Strong understanding of youth development theories and evidence-based intervention practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with young people and their families.
Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with various stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
Ability to navigate challenging situations and employ conflict resolution strategies where necessary.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £19.32
