Crynodeb
To share with other team members in meeting the personal care needs of service users in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence. Care provided by care assistants is expected to include care that would reasonably be given by members of the service user’s own family and will not include tasks that would normally be undertaken by a trained nurse. Only when trained to do so would care workers undertake any specialist tasks. To promote, where possible, independence by assisting with all aspect of daily living, this can include personal care, hair care,shopping, prescription collection, light housework and many other tasks which make life nicer and easier for the service user.
