Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Wolverhampton, WV10
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is looking to recruit 2 Personal Assistants to provide support to their 15-year-old son with a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.
This young man requires 2:1 support at all times.
Main duties:
Social duties
Engage with him in various activities: take him into the community for different activities like sports (basketball, swimming, football), sensory music hubs etc.
Teach him independent life skills: crossing the road, personal care, proper dressing, household care, cleaning up after himself, social interaction, shopping etc.
Personal care: Support with all personal care when supporting the young man.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality & diversity.
Specific requirements: Someone with previous experience of working with children with autism and ADHD.
Hours of work: 4 hours per week during term time & 6 hours per week during non-term time
Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
Full UK driving licence
Car and appropriate insurance
Previous experience of young people with severe Autism and ADHD
MAPA Trained
Confidentiality
Good at building relationships
Ability to support people with behaviours which challenge.
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
