Summary

Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Wolverhampton, WV10

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:
Our client is looking to recruit 2 Personal Assistants to provide support to their 15-year-old son with a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD.

This young man requires 2:1 support at all times.

Main duties:
Social duties
 Engage with him in various activities: take him into the community for different activities like sports (basketball, swimming, football), sensory music hubs etc.

 Teach him independent life skills: crossing the road, personal care, proper dressing, household care, cleaning up after himself, social interaction, shopping etc.
Personal care: Support with all personal care when supporting the young man.

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

Type of person that you/they are looking for:
 Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality & diversity.

 Specific requirements: Someone with previous experience of working with children with autism and ADHD.

Hours of work: 4 hours per week during term time & 6 hours per week during non-term time

Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
 Full UK driving licence
 Car and appropriate insurance
 Previous experience of young people with severe Autism and ADHD
 MAPA Trained
 Confidentiality
 Good at building relationships
 Ability to support people with behaviours which challenge.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
