Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm (Flexible hours)

Salary: Circa £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Position Details:

This international food manufacturing company is seeking a proactive Stores Manager to join their engineering team in Milton Keynes.

This is a pivotal role within a fast-paced, high-tech site. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our engineering stores, ensuring our maintenance team has the parts they need to keep the site running at peak efficiency. You will manage one direct report and play a key role in our journey to grow our food manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Lead periodic cycle counts, yearly stock takes, and manage the identification and location of all engineering stock.
  • Procurement Support: Work closely with the Engineering Purchaser to source alternative suppliers, manage lead times, and negotiate costs to drive value.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain an organized, tidy stores area with clear standards for engineers to follow.
  • Technical Oversight: Manage the repair/rewind of high-value stock and ensure spare parts for new factory equipment are provisioned correctly.
  • System Accuracy: Utilize IT systems (including Excel and CMMS) to track KPIs, raise PO numbers, and manage stock levels of slow-moving items.
  • Compliance: Ensure full adherence to Health & Safety (ISO 45001) and Food Safety standards, including risk assessments and PPE compliance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 3+ years in a Stores Management or Senior Inventory role, specifically within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to identify and source "like-for-like" engineering components and spare parts.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Strong Excel skills are essential) and experience with stock management software/CMMS.
  • Soft Skills: A "can-do" attitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to lead a small team.
  • Industry Background: Experience in food manufacturing is highly advantageous but not essential.
