We’re recruiting Support Workers within Skipton & Surrounding Areas!
Are you passionate about making a real difference in someone's life? Do you enjoy meaningful work that has a positive impact every single day? Join our dedicated team of Support Workers and help us deliver inclusive, personalised care to people in your community.
About Us
Avalon Group is an award-winning charity with over 30 years’ experience in providing person-centred support to adults with care support needs. We pride ourselves in promoting independence and choice, enabling the people we support to achieve their best life experience. At Avalon, we live everyday by our values of respect, honesty, learning & development, inclusion and partnership working.
Looking for a fulfilling and rewarding job that works for you?
We're currently looking for Support Workers, to work primarily at our new service based in Sutton-In-Craven. The person we support is enthusiastic about animals (especially dogs), photography, exploring the outdoors, and living her life to the fullest. She’s looking for support workers who can share her interests, and who can support and encourage her independence in everyday life. Applicants must be over the age of 25*, hold a full-UK Driving Licence and be comfortable driving the person we support’s mobility vehicle.
Support duties will include:
• Providing personal care as required, including stoma care
• Administering medication
• Supporting to pursue hobbies and enjoy a full social life
• Domestic duties including cooking and helping the person we support to care for her home
• Working closely and co-operatively with colleagues within the support team
Although you will primarily be based within this package, there will be an expectation to work at services across our Skipton Locality as required. This is a varied and meaningful role where you will be helping the people you support to live the life they choose.
Available shift patterns are varied, with hours of work which can include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and sleepover shifts. We’re therefore open to applicants requiring full-time or part-time hours. Your availability, and any pre-existing commitments you may have, will be discussed at interview stage.
We’re looking for compassionate and caring individuals who are enthusiastic about making a difference to people’s lives. Previous care experience is preferable; however, our in-house training team will ensure that you have all the skills you need to deliver your role with confidence. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain and develop life-long skills!
*This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

Due to the terms of our sponsorship licence, we are currently not able to accept applications from those requiring sponsorship. Please only apply if you are already a resident in the UK with no sponsorship requirements.
Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate.
We strive to ensure equality of opportunity for all. We welcome applications from suitably skilled candidates regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality or religion.
