Southampton Neonatal Services encompass a wide range of specialist services, including Neonatal Intensive Care, Special Care, Transitional Care, Home Outreach, Neonatal Transport (SONeT) and the Milk Bank. The post holder will use their expert clinical knowledge, leadership skills and influence to drive operational development and service improvement across these areas, ensuring care is responsive, efficient and aligned with national standards.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalizing your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.

We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.

Working in close partnership with the Lead Matron, Consultant Neonatologists, Senior Nursing Team and Care Group Management Team, the Operational Matron will play a key role in workforce planning, quality improvement, risk management and performance delivery. You will act as a professional role model, supporting staff development, wellbeing and retention, while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, experience and outcomes.
