Work with us at Riverford, and join a thriving employee-owned business as a Warehouse Operative…
Be part of a inclusive and friendly butchery production team
More than just a veg box….Riverford are mad about organic veg. It’s at the core of everything we do. We love to grow it, pack it into boxes, and deliver it to around 70, 000 homes across the UK every week.
This takes loads of brilliant people – and working here makes you a ‘co-owner’, since Riverford is employee-owned. Success means much more than just profits; we want this to be a place people enjoy coming to work, and a business our co-owners feel proud of!
We offer a bucket load of benefits….33 days holiday pro rata (including bank holidays), 30% off veg boxes and our online shop, generous company pension scheme, annual profit share (at least 10% of all our profits are split equally between all co-owners)
Delivering even greener veg - We’re in the process of swapping diesel vans to electric, with the ambitious goal of being 100% electric vans for low-emission deliveries to our customers!
This role is a permanent contract, 39 hours per week - Working Sunday to Thursday, which is inclusive of Bank Holidays.
Location: Unit 1, Dean Court, Buckfastleigh, TQ11 0LT. - Reliable transportation is required to commute to Dean Court, as it is not accessible by public transport routes.

Pay: £13.11 per hour

Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 6am start, latest finish 3pm.

What you’ll be doing…
Most people know Riverford for our veg, but we also have our own organic butchery, delivering high-welfare British meat to homes all over the country. Our meat is organic, carefully sourced and properly prepared - hung for flavour, then butchered with skill and care.

Every week, our butchery produces over 20,000 packs of meat. The dispatch team is where it all comes together. This is the final step before our meat heads out to customers, and it involves sealing, weighing and labelling each pack, then making sure every load leaves on time and ready for the journey ahead.

As part of the team, you’ll work alongside the Team Manager and your teammates to get the day’s work done. You’ll rotate between different tasks, learn new skills and muck in where needed - it’s practical, hands-on work, and an important part of getting great food to people’s doors.

What we’re looking for
Ideally you will have some knowledge of food/fresh produce or demonstrate a willingness to develop your knowledge further.
Experience of working within a production, warehouse or manufacturing environment would be preferred.
Able to demonstrate strong communication skills.
Good time management and organisation skills.
Able to work in an accurate and methodical manner.
At Riverford, we value quality service and our production team play a key role in our mission. If you’re looking for a job where you can make a difference and join a friendly, supportive team, we’d love to hear from you!

Application Process - We'll be reviewing applications throughout the duration of the advert and may choose to bring the closing date forward; therefore, we'd encourage you to apply at your earliest convenience.
