Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Tenancy Sustainment and Move On Officer (SO2) to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting individuals and families in securing and maintaining their tenancies. In this dynamic position, you will work closely with vulnerable clients, helping them navigate the complexities of maintaining stable housing as well as facilitating successful transitions to independent living. Your expertise will be crucial in providing personalized support services, empowering clients with the skills and resources necessary to sustain their homes over the long term. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including local authorities, housing associations, and community organizations to develop tailored action plans that address each client's unique circumstances. By fostering positive relationships and providing practical assistance, you will help clients overcome barriers to successful tenancy, such as financial management, social isolation, and conflict resolution. This role is not only about providing immediate help but also about promoting resilience and independence among our clients ensuring that they have the tools they need to thrive in their new homes. Responsibilities
Conduct assessments of clients' housing needs and identify appropriate support interventions.
Develop and implement individualized support plans to assist clients in sustaining their tenancies.
Provide practical assistance and guidance on financial management, budgeting, and benefits entitlements.
Facilitate access to relevant services, including mental health, substance misuse, and employment support.
Act as a liaison between clients and landlords/housing providers to resolve tenancy issues.
Monitor and review progress, adjusting support plans as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
Organize and lead workshops and training sessions to equip clients with essential life skills for independent living.
Requirements
Relevant qualification in social work, housing, or a related field.
Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly in tenancy support or social care.
Strong understanding of housing law, welfare benefits, and related policies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
Proven problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively while meeting deadlines.
