Hays are currently partnering with a specialist independent school supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs, based in Disley, Cheshire East. They provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Their approach focusses on personalised learning, small class sizes, and building strong, positive relationships to help every pupil reach their full potential. This school are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. You will work in a small class of 7 pupils, including one child receiving 1:1 support. Pupils have individual needs and may display challenging behaviours until trust and relationships are established.
Location: Disley, Cheshire East
Start Date: 5th January
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30 (non-negotiable)
Contract: TemporaryRate: Up to £125/day DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities for pupils with autism.
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils where required.
- Help manage classroom behaviour using positive strategies and clear boundaries.
- Assist with planning and preparation of resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Promote emotional wellbeing and encourage positive social interactions.
- Uphold safeguarding, autism-specific strategies, and school policies at all times.
