Due to exciting service expansion, Barnardo's Greater Manchester SEND Services is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, inspire, and grow—while doing work that truly matters.



What's the Role?

As a Senior Practitioner, you'll take the lead in planning and delivering our Holiday Club Provision across Trafford and Rochdale. You'll also line manage a team of As and When Workers—supporting recruitment, supervision, and development—ensuring high-quality, inclusive services for families.

You'll work closely with our Team Manager and Children's Services Manager to keep things running smoothly and creatively. No two days are the same!

Our services span across Greater Manchester, including Trafford, Rochdale, and Bury, and include:

Holiday Club Provision
Information, Advice and Support Services
Mental Health Key Worker roles
Neurodiversity in Education Projects


What You'll Need

A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel across GM is essential)
A passion for working with children, young people, and families
A strong understanding of SEND and inclusive practice
Confidence in leading and supporting a team
Excellent organisation and communication skills
Solid safeguarding knowledge and accurate recording abilities
