Crynodeb
This is a less than full time locum maternity cover post to ensure the acute Paediatric department at Croydon University Hospital continues to deliver excellent high quality, patient centred, and responsive care. We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic colleague to join our Paediatric Department. Engagement with key professionals is critical, including ED staff, community staff and subspecialty colleagues. The post holder will form part of a dynamic team of thirteen paediatric consultants providing care across a wide range of specialties. S/he will be expected to have experience in a wide range of General Paediatric and Neonatal conditions, from acute management to long term follow up where appropriate. Neonatal cover (Level 2) cover for out of hours on call is also part of this post. The post is built around a 6PA job plan (more detailed breakdown at end). This post is a job share with another colleague to cover the attending in the Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) 1 in 5 weeks. This breaks down into covering 1 in 10 Wednesdays and 1 in 5 Thursdays and Fridays between 0830hrs and 1700hrs. The other four weeks include outpatient clinics, administrative sessions, and SPA time. Annual leave will be covered internally. The on-call rota will be based on a 13 FTE consultant rota, of which this post covers 0.5 FTE. When on call, the post holder is expected to cross cover General Paediatrics, Neonatology (Level 2 unit) and Paediatric emergencies within the paediatric emergency department (PED). When on call, the post holder is expected to be on site until 22:00 hrs to ensure compliance with HLP London Quality standards of consultant presence during hours of peak activity. Refer to full JD
