This is an exciting time of growth, and an opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner role for our Wokingham Mental Health Services. You will work collaboratively with a range of professionals across health, mental health, social care, employment and other settings as required.


You will be able to work autonomously, 9-5 Mon-Frid, exercise clear and coherent decision-making skills and be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the wider service.


Training will be given to further develop your knowledge and understanding of this client group.


Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners (MHWP) play a vital role in supporting adults with severe and/or significant mental health problems to manage their mental health. They work as part of multi-disciplinary teams (MDT) to support the delivery of care plans and provide wellbeing-focused psychologically informed interventions.


As a qualified MHWP, you will work within a multidisciplinary adult mental health team to support service users in achieving their personal recovery goals. You will deliver structured, wellbeing-focused psychologically informed interventions, that are based on the evidence available and informed by clinical outcomes, to address problems often experienced by people with severe mental health problems.


This role will include working with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary. You will work collaboratively with a range of professionals across health, mental health, social care, employment and other settings as required.


You will engage with regular case management supervision from a qualified professional and clinical skills supervision from a HCPC registered clinical/counselling psychologist or BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural therapist, to provide high quality collaborative care planning and wellbeing interventions.

FOR SECONDMENT ROLES ONLY - If the secondment role becomes permanent, the successful candidate may be offered the permanent position.

The “must haves” for this role:

• Successful completion of a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited MHWP training programme.


OR

• Successful completion of either University of Sussex Graduate Mental Health Practitioner course or University of Central Lancashire Associate Psychological Practitioner course.


AND

• Completion of certificated HEE/NHSE approved conversion programme (at Sussex, UClan or Edgehill)

• Registration as a MHWP on the British Psychological Society (BPS) Wider Psychological Workforce Register


OR

• MHWP registration with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

• Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., psychology, mental health, sociology, education etc.) graded at 2:2 or above.
