Highly Specialist Clinical / Counselling Psychologist

Band 8a (Band 7– 8a development post considered)

We are recruiting motivated and compassionateHighly Specialist Clinical/Counselling Health Psychologiststo join our Clinical Health Psychology Service.

Current opportunities include:
• Gastroenterology Service based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (1.2WTE)
• Acute Stroke Unit based at Royal Berkshire Hospital and Outpatient Neuropsychology based at Berkshire Healthcare (0.4WTE)
• ME/CFS Service based at Berkshire Healthcare (0.4WTE)
• Community Psychological Medicine Service based at Berkshire Healthcare (MUS/FND) (0.4WTE)

All roles involve working within well-established multidisciplinary teams, managing a specialist clinical caseload, and contributing to service development. Postholders will receive supervision and professional support from the Principal Psychologist.

These roles are Band 8a, however, applications are also welcomed from Band 7 with the relevant clinical experience interested in a structured development pathway to 8a.

You will join a vibrant and supportive Clinical Health Psychology Service at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which also covers ICU, Haematology, Pain, Bariatrics, Inpatient Neurorehabilitation ward, and Cancer Services.

These exciting roles are jointly commissioned by Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust.
• Advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to other clinical members of the teams providing psychologically and physically based care and treatment.
• Direct therapeutic clinical work with individuals living with long term physical health conditions
• Service delivery, service planning and care pathways.

The "must haves" for this role: 
• Doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology
• Evidence of post qualification or specialist training to accreditable level in areas of psychological/psychotherapy practice directly related to the clinical requirements of this post
• Experience of specialist assessment and formulation and treatment of adults in inpatient and/or community physical health settings.
• Relevant experience of working with long-term health conditions.
• HCPC registration
