The ideal candidate would be acting in a leadership capacity for a small team, backfilling the permanent member of staff while they and aligned resources are involved in the deployment of new network and firewall infrastructure across the core, county hall, site.

The team is a small team of 8; 3rd line network, firewall and telephony specialist – so a good technical understanding of the team remit is required, but duties of the successful candidate will be around team management; ad-hoc escalations, daily workload prioritisation and delivery management, supplier and stakeholder engagement and BAU contract renewals across support and maintenance contracts and associated services

Knowledge
In-depth understanding of ICT systems and technologies Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Understanding of quality assurance development
. Knowledge of policy and procedure development. Understanding of cyber security principles Understanding of Information Governance policy, specialising in data protection & data privacy Awareness of vendor evaluation processes.

Experience

Proven experience in a similar technology lead role, conducting research and analysis, providing technical support, developing, and implementing policies and procedures, service reporting, quality assurance, vendor evaluation and management and risk management.

Experience of ICT Transformation and Maintenance projects, as a member of a design authority or as the Technology owner/workstream Lead.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks like DevOps, Scrum or Kanban, as product owners often work within these environments Understanding of security and compliance requirements related to the area of expertise

Experience in guiding organisations through change, particularly in adopting new technologies and processes Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including developers, ICT management, business leaders, and end-users.



Qualifications / Registrations / Certifications



Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or demonstrate equivalent qualifications through relevant professional experience.

Relevant professional certification. Advanced degree in a related field. Certification in project management. Certification in quality assurance. Certification in risk management.

Skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to provide expert technical guidance.

Proficiency in developing policies and procedures. Strong organisational and documentation skills. Data engineering, data flow and data science awareness Ability to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
