The Assignment: Excellence in Scientific EducationA fantastic opportunity is available for a proactive QTS Science Teacher to join a collaborative department in Preston. Whether you are covering a long-term gap, sickness, or a secondment, your role will be vital in safeguarding student progress.
You will be responsible for delivering dynamic, well-structured lessons that focus on both core scientific principles and essential practical skills. Your contribution will ensure that students remain intellectually curious and stay on track for their academic milestones.
Core Responsibilities-
Deliver Exceptional Lessons: Teach single or combined sciences, ensuring the curriculum is covered effectively and all students are appropriately challenged.

Assess and Evaluate: Accurately mark student work and provide constructive feedback to help them bridge gaps in their scientific knowledge.

Laboratory Safety: Maintain an inspiring and safe classroom environment, strictly adhering to health and safety (CLEAPSS) procedures during all practical experiments.

Professional Liaison: Work closely with the science technicians and department colleagues regarding resources and student needs.

Compliance: Uphold all school protocols, focusing on effective behaviour management and safeguarding throughout the contract.

QTS Status: Mandatory, along with a relevant Science-related degree.

Experience: Demonstrable success teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE).

Interpersonal Skills: The ability to quickly build positive rapport with students and staff in a new setting.

Reliability: A proactive and professional approach to contract work with a commitment to high standards.

Safeguarding: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one promptly).
