The Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Food Preparation Department Supervisor to join our growing team in Derby. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in food production or preparation—especially in a leadership or supervisory role—who’s passionate about quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Preparation Room Manager with daily operations, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management
Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene across all preparation activities
Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement
Ensure strict compliance with food safety protocols and industry accreditations (e.g., BRC, SALSA)
Oversee the cleaning, maintenance, and readiness of preparation machinery and equipment
Ensure customer orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standard
The business operates over a 6-day week Mon – Sat. The candidate’s hours will predominately be Mon – Friday 9am – 5pm. However, from time to time you may be required to work a shift pattern Mondays and after Bank Holidays 2.30am – 10.30am
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in a food preparation or production environment (supervisory experience preferred)
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene procedures
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and lifting heavy items when required
