Summary
PURPOSE OF THE POST
Manage the building and maintenance projects, providing technical specialist advice in Mechanical Building Services Engineering, ensuring that all works are carried out in an efficient manner, setting performance specifications and standards and being responsible for ensuring works meet the required quality standards, including ensuring that the legislative duties under Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 are discharged effectively with particular reference to water hygiene and legionella.

To Whom: Building Surveying / Engineering Manager
For Whom: None directly but may be responsible for agency staff, consultants and other staff as directed by the Service Manager
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1 Advisor to the Corporate Landlord: Act as a key advisor to the Corporate Landlord on compliance of the Corporate Estate, in accordance with ISO 55000 International Standards for Asset Management.
4.2 Technical specialist: Provide technical specialist advice in Building Services Engineering (mechanical). Be the Councils technical specialist for mechanical engineering, overseeing compliance, servicing, and projects involving:
• Heating, hot water generation, hot and cold water services (including managing quarterly water hygiene control tasks), air conditioning services, commercial kitchens
Oversee mechanical engineering services and construction project delivery and prepare reports, estimates, specifications, drawings and works schedules for quotations or tendering.
Oversee a programme of lift inspections and ensure that all in use lifts are thoroughly examined by competent person at specified intervals in accordance with legislation, COP’s or ot
