Are you a compassionate, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's education? We are seeking a dedicated TA to join our friendly primary school in Greenwich, supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behaviour.
About the Role:
In this rewarding role, you will work one-to-one with a child who requires consistent, structured and nurturing support to thrive in the classroom. You will be part of a supportive staff team committed to creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with SEN, including SEMH and behaviour needs
- Implement individual support strategies and follow the child's personalised plan
- Help maintain a safe, calm and encouraging learning environment
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo and external professionals
- Build trusting relationships with the child to support their academic and personal development
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs (school-based experience desirable)
- Is calm, empathetic and proactive
- Can use their initiative and adapt to changing needs
- Communicates effectively with staff, pupils and families
- Is committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning
