Position: Youth Mentor
Location: Manchester (M27)
Pay: £95-£105 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: 05/01/2026
Hours: 8:30am-3:15pm
Are you ready to make a real impact? Join a supportive provision in Swinton, as a youth mentor, working with young people who present challenging behaviour. Provide structure, stability and encouragement while helping students re-engage with education and build brighter futures.
The school supports KS3 and KS4 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, provided clear boundaries, structured routines and pastoral mentoring.
As a Youth Mentor, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis, encouraging engagement
- Implement positive behaviour strategies, to assist in managing challenging behaviour
- Work closely with other staff members and external agencies to monitor progress
Requirements:
- Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
- Previous experience in Youth Work or a SEMH setting
- Team Teach Level 2 (highly desired)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
