Job Description
Role Title: Material Handler
Location: Huddersfield
Pay Rate: £14.07 per hour
Working Hours: 40 hours per week - Shift worker
Contract Length: 6 Months
Role Purpose
The Day Support Material Handler provides essential support to this team by:
- Assisting chemical operations across the plant, including material handling, product packing, tanker loading, and container loading using a Forklift Truck.
- Supporting maintenance operations, including cleaning activities during outages.
The role requires working safely, efficiently, and flexibly across various responsibilities on the plant.
Accountabilities
- Perform activities such as:
- Final product tanker operations
- Final product drumming
- Waste management (support re-works, run-to-drains, routine/non-routine waste)
- Housekeeping and asset care duties
- HQ charging activities
- Delivery loading/offloading
- Outage support (cleaning vessels/equipment)
Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges
- Achieve and maintain competencies for all activities related to raw materials, waste, final products, and ancillary units (training provided).
- Maintain accurate records for Aquinas/CBT packages and corporate online training.
- Exhibit positivity, agility, and willingness to learn new skills quickly.
- Demonstrate strong planning, organization, and decision-making abilities.
- Handle multiple issues concurrently under pressure with effective prioritization.
- Adapt readily to change and show initiative in driving results.
- Maintain flexibility to meet business demands.
- Physical fitness and good attendance record required.
- Must hold a current Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
