About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA / LSA) to join a supportive primary school in Hammersmith from January 2026. This full-time position involves providing targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their potential.
The role offers the chance to work within a school that values inclusion and the development of every child, alongside experienced teaching staff and a strong SEN team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including learning, social, emotional, or behavioural needs
- Assist teachers and the SENCo in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Support pupils with engagement, focus, and independence during lessons and activities
- Help adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
- Monitor and report on pupils' progress, contributing to planning and review meetings
- Encourage positive relationships, confidence, and social development
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting
- Patient, adaptable, and compassionate, with a genuine passion for inclusive education
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive approach to supporting both pupils and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
