Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and highly motivated individual to join our welcoming EYFS team. The role involves supporting children’s learning within our preschool, with occasional support in Year R when needed.
Our recent visit from DfE representatives highlighted our commitment to nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning from the very start of each child’s education. They praised our engaging learning environments and the dedication of our passionate team.
We are seeking someone who:
• Has a solid background in Early Years education
• Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years childcare qualification and Level 2 Maths/English
• Ideally has a paediatric first aid qualification (or is willing to complete training)
• Is passionate about delivering a high-quality early years experience for our Ryde community
What the school offers its staff
In return, Haylands offers:
• Wonderful children who love to learn through play
• A dedicated and supportive team that values your wellbeing and professional growth
• The chance to make a meaningful impact within our unique and vibrant community
Commitment to safeguarding
Haylands Primary School and the Isle of Wight Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks. This post is classed as regulated activity and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
