The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bricklaying professional to join our Construction department as a teacher. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who is passionate about sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of bricklaying professionals.
As a Bricklaying Teacher you will be responsible for delivering high quality training and education guiding students through both practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to succeed in the Construction Industry, you will teach across a range of levels from beginners starting their careers to apprentices and adults seeking to upskill. Your teaching will encompass a variety of techniques including cavity wall construction solid walls using different bonds projecting feature work and decorative panels such as angled work
You will prepare and deliver lessons practical demonstrations and assessments ensuring that students are supported throughout their learning journey, monitoring progress providing constructive feedback and tailoring your teaching approach to meet individual needs will be central to your role. A strong commitment to health and safety is essential as you will maintain a safe and professional workshop environment at all times.
About You
Applicants should have a solid background in the Construction Industry with hands on bricklaying experience together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds Organisational ability adaptability and dedication to creating a positive learning environment are key attributes A teaching qualification such as a PGCE or Cert Ed is desirable although support will be provided to achieve this if not already held
Previous experience in education or training is advantageous but genuine enthusiasm for developing the next generation of bricklaying professionals is most important
Collaboration with colleagues and course leaders will be an integral part of the role ensuring that the curriculum is delivered effectively and that resources are managed efficiently You will also contribute to course development helping to maintain high standards of teaching and learning while ensuring that content remains relevant and aligned with industry trends.

Required
• Level 3 in a relevant subject area or significant sector experience
• Teaching qualification (must be willing to work towards Level 4 PGCE if not already held)
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) or willingness to work towards in service.
• Relevant occupational experience within the sector.
• Knowledge and ability to teach; Practical Bricklaying sessions, level 1 beginner to advanced level 3 standard.
• Evidence of an ability to motivate, inspire and positively influence colleagues and students.
• Evidence of an ability to effectively train and assess students for Industry Standard Practices.
