Are you the right person for the job?

Our client is looking for someone who has:

• A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in IT Support or a similar technical role
• AZ-900 certification (required)
• Strong understanding of Windows Server, Azure, and core networking
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues
• UK Citizen or Permanent Resident status
• No visa sponsorship available. No visa holders.
• Ability to commute daily to our Hertfordshire office (onsite role only)

What will your role look like?

As a System Support Engineer, you will provide advanced technical support to end users and assist in the administration of our IT infrastructure. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, support internal improvements, and mentor Level 1 engineers to enhance overall team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot escalated hardware, software, and network issues
• Develop solutions to complex technical problems
• Create clear technical documentation for internal and external use
• Mentor Level 1 support engineers
• Work with Level 3 support and other teams to resolve specialised or advanced issues
• Assist in administering and maintaining the IT infrastructure:

• Windows Server
• Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
• Network devices and configurations
• Collaborate with vendors and external service providers
• Support asset management and maintain accurate IT records
• Participate in patch management and system maintenance
• Apply knowledge of Networking and Azure daily


Technical Skills Required:

• Proficient in Windows Server (2016+) administration
• Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS, AADS/Entra, MDM, groups & permissions
• Advanced desktop support experience
• Experience with disk management, user profile backup/restore, Outlook & OneDrive
• Strong networking knowledge: Layer-2/3 switches, routers, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, IPSec VPN
• Familiar with Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure IaaS, and Office 365 (including SharePoint Online)
• Experience with ticketing systems and Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
