The successful candidate will:
• Have a keen interest in children's language development and learning
• Enjoy working with children with special educational needs
• Have experience supporting children with social communication or other needs
• Support individual children and/or groups both in class and out of class where appropriate, following teacher direction
• Feel motivated to work with pupils with a range of strengths and needs to ensure the best outcomes for every child
• Have a role supervising children during some playtimes and lunchtimes to ensure positive social experiences at school
• Be an excellent team-player and good communicator
What the school offers its staff
You will be part of a passionate and professional team dedicated to ensuring that children receive excellent learning opportunities and the best possible care in an inclusive and purposeful environment, shaped to their needs.

Closing date for applications in 12 noon on Monday 5th January 2026.
We intend to shortlist candidates on Thursday 8th January 2026, afterwhich candidates will be contacted and invited to scheduled interviews on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th Janaury 2026.
Further details about the role
Arranging to visit the school:
The best way of organising to visit the school is to contact us via our recruitment email address work@greystonesprimary.com
We appreciate that this vacancy has been advertised at a very busy time in the school calendar and that it may be difficult for potential candidates and representatives of the school, alike, to find a mutually convenient time to coordinate a visit. Please don't hesitate to contact us via the email address at your earliest convenience to see what can be arranged.
If you are interested in visiting the school outside of operational times, we are looking to provide an opportunity to do so on Friday 2nd January 2026; times yet to be set. Please get in touch in good time if you would like to consider this option.
Throughout the holiday period our recruitment email address will remain available for asking any questions about the role or the school. Monitoring of emails to this inbox will not necessarily happen daily throughout the festive period, so please bear with us patiently in getting back to you.
Commitment to safeguarding
Greystones is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people; we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. All shortlisted candidates should disclose any cautions or convictions prior to interview. The amendments to the ROA Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain convictions and cautions are 'protected' and therefore not subject to disclosure to employers. Guidance and criteria can be found on the Ministry of Justice website.
