Crynodeb
To convey patients to and from Departments for clinical examinations via chair, beds or stretchers as part of a team or on an individual basis. To collect and deliver notes & request forms to and from as per Radiology Department protocol. Disposal of soiled linen, sharps, magpie boxes and other waste products in line with Trust waste policy. To assist radiographers with moving of patients for clinical examinations when required. To assist ambulance crews with transfer of patients. To be responsible for the cleaning of chairs and stretchers, including the documentation. Daily checking and maintenance of oxygen cylinders. Assist with first line maintenance of wheelchairs/ stretchers reporting and recording faults to Line Manager/ Section Lead and/ or estates as required. To assist with the movement of technical equipment to other wards and departments (Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) etc) when required. To participate in evening and weekend working on a roster basis. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Ensure knowledge is kept up to date and be aware of Trust and departmental policies and procedures for: - Emergency and cardiac arrest procedures. Waste Policy. Guidelines for patients for special procedures. Guidelines for patients from ITU. Policy for Infection Control and management of these patients. To ensure compliance with Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R), Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR) Health & Safety Act, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH). Measurable Result Areas To attend/complete all statutory and mandatory training on a yearly basis. To participate in individual appraisal and work to agreed objectives. Communications and Working Relationships Attend staff and Trust meetings where applicable. To work as part of a team in line with the Trust Values (Safe, Effective, Compassionate & Trusted) To escalate all concerns or incidents immediately to either Section Lead/Operations and Performance Manager
