Summary

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services Department.

**You must be able to IQA L1-3 Plumbing. There is an estimated 3 hours of on-site work a week, though this may change due to the nature of the role**

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The WBL construction department provides training and assessment for apprenticeships and work placed assessments.

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will be responsible for the internal verification of all plumbing assessments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To be the Lead Internal Verifier for the Centre and deputy Centre Co-ordinator.

· Lead the Internal Verification team in terms of CPD and standardisation meetings.

· Carry out formal verification of assessments in line with College and Awarding Body guidelines.

· To liaise with the External Verifier and Awarding Body.

· To support External Verifier visits.

· To conduct NVQ assessment activity both in the workplace and within the college.

· To ensure that the awarding bodies’ assessment related documentation is standardised and maintained to a high standard in accordance with the requirements of the College, Employer, Awarding and Auditing Bodies.

· To take part in developmental opportunities in consultation with the Management team and in line with College policy.

· To participate in the activities of the appropriate teams.

· To attend college delivered ‘Teaching Essentials’ training

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

HOURS OF WORK

The post holder will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the proper performance of their duties and responsibilities. This is a zero hours post, but the hours will be discussed at interview.

PLACE OF WORK

The principal place of work will be the College’s premises based at our Royal Leamington Spa College. However, the post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we may provide services.

Essential Attainments

NVQ Level 3 within Plumbing or equivalent Apprenticeship route within this discipline.
Maintain accreditation to meet the awarding body requirements to assess relevant qualifications, including Gas qualifications.
Assessor’s Award (preferably A1) or equivalent. Applicant willing to achieve within the first 6 months will be considered.
GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or equivalent. Applicant willing to achieve within the first 6 months will be considered
Evidence of formal structured training in a relevant vocation.
Recent extensive industrial experience.
Have a working knowledge of Health & Safety in the appropriate vocation.
Have a wide technical knowledge in the vocation.
Experience of liaising and negotiating with industrial partners.
Desirable Attainments

A UK driving licence free of major endorsements.
Administrative skills, including IT skills.
Internal Verification Award (preferably V1) or equivalent.
