Chaplain - Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre (IRC)

Location: Campsfield IRC, Kidlington, Oxfordshire

Type: Full-time | Permanent

Campsfield IRC is preparing to open as the UK's first all-electric Immigration Removal Centre, setting a new standard in custodial care. We are seeking a compassionate and committed Faith Leader to join our multi-faith chaplaincy team, supporting the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of residents and staff.

This is a unique opportunity for a religious minister to bring their calling into a diverse and dynamic environment, offering pastoral care, worship, and spiritual guidance to individuals from a wide range of faith backgrounds.

Your Mission

As Chaplain, you will:

-Lead and facilitate worship and religious study for your faith group, ensuring services are inclusive, respectful, and aligned with residents' spiritual needs.

-Provide pastoral care to residents, staff, and their families—offering comfort, counsel, and support during challenging times.

-Collaborate with other faith leaders, volunteers, and external religious representatives to deliver a comprehensive multi-faith programme.

-Maintain sacred spaces and ensure access to religious materials, artefacts, and literature appropriate to your faith tradition.

-Advocate for religious observance, advising management on key festivals, fasts, and holy days to ensure residents can practice their faith meaningfully.

-Build bridges with external faith communities, ensuring continuity of care and best practice in spiritual support.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applications from ordained ministers, imams, rabbis, priests, pastors, and other accredited religious leaders who:

-Are experienced in leading worship and providing pastoral care.

-Hold appropriate theological or ministerial qualifications.

-Are committed to interfaith collaboration and respectful dialogue.

-Can work within a secure environment with sensitivity and discretion.

-Are passionate about serving those in need, regardless of background or belief.

Additional Requirements

Due to the nature of the role, all applicants must:

-Be a British citizen, EU citizen with settled status, or hold Indefinite Leave to Remain.

-Have lived in the UK for the past three years.

-Pass enhanced background checks including criminal record, financial history, and social media screening.
