Summary
We are a busy, family-run, Pony Club-linked riding school & livery yard established for over 25 years. Teaching beginners through to advanced riders. As well as caring for mares and foals and youngstock, including backing & schooling. With experienced, qualified staff offering high level training.
A fantastic opportunity to join the team as an equine groom.
Daily duties including, but not limited to;
Mucking out
feeding
haying
watering
sweeping/tidying yard,
keeping the yard & equipment clean
catching in & turning out
grooming & preparing horses for lessons
assisting with lessons.
With the additional opportunities to be involved with
backing & training
all aspects of stud work
assist at shows
Desired Skills and Qualities
High attendance and punctuality record
Keen listener & able to follow instructions
Enthusiastic to learn about working with horses
Desired Qualifications
Applicants must NOT already hold a level 2 or above in Equine.
GCSE maths and English Grade 4/C or equivalent desired but not essential.
Possible Progression
Teaching opportunities.
Opportunity of full time work after the apprenticeship.
Progression on to level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship.
Training Provided
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
Training towards BHS Stage Exams and Ride Safe.
