The roles will be responsible in assisting with the implementation and monitoring of the Authority’s transportation policies in the context of national, regional and local transportation issues and the promotion of the active travel agenda. This includes working on the active travel programme, contributing to the development of transport related policy for inclusion in the land use planning system, preparing submissions to the Regional Transport Fund (RTF), developing the wider strategic transport programme and providing specialist advice on strategic highway matters.

The candidates will have a good working knowledge and experience of transport policy and highway matters both at a local and regional level together with an understanding of the range of issues in the provision of transportation services at local authority level.
